No you have to make a pest of yourselves at the local building supply. They do get breakages on the foam board. Sometimes you get it free sometimes they offer a cheap deal.

I keep forgetting to stake out the dumpster at the job sites I'm on.

Here is the completed frame for the left side. As you can see, we already have the foam base cut for that side. Turns out, Kitty is super with the small hand saw, and made some very nice cuts. Foam pics to follow.

Good for you Rob ...sometimes you think what bothers you just will go away but it never does, thats why we always change our plans

You'll like that foam board I used the white bead board they call it here and used the ws foam cutter alot but also used the drywall saw along side of the shop vac to clean up . If I wasn't using the tortoise switches I definately would have done like Tom has done on his layout with very thick layers of foamboard dug out for scenery and track layed on top of it,that would work great for you.

Naw. My old layout was cookie cutting. I'm going with foam board all the way with this one. I think it's going to be much easier. Yes, I wasn't very happy with some of the construction details the first time around. It was always going to bother me. Then when I realized I wanted something more than a roundy round, I just decided to go for it.

Good for you Rob. Are you going to be able to keep your inclines?
For me I found what I learned on the first layout made it much easier and more comfortable working on the second, how bout you ?

As promised, here is proof positive I've lost my mind. Half of the old layout is gone, and the 30" shelf frame has been roughed in for the Beaver Hole.
