How about I post a how to on building a 3 way stub switch in HO gauge? I'm working on getting a portion of an old layout I had formerly of the Virginia and Truckee RR in the engine house area that was local.on the south bank of the Truckee River in downtown Reno. I can post it in the construction area.

:o:While model railroading has slowly lost out to other mediums of entertainment, young folks in general tend to lean toward video games and online dating, etc. A hobby requiring a modicum of acquired skills as well as the use of your digits rules out a great amount of expansion into model railroading. There are always exceptions. Many of us relied on watching Andy build his railroad, and continued to learn and just enjoy his progress. I'm sure I'll become active in the hobby again, I still have hundreds of kits, scratch build plans, a huge roundhouse and layout in the small shop and just a complete railroad to build. For myself and many others that were once daily visitors here at Trackside, time priorities, and health have evolved into other adventures. I pay for the site a year at a time, and don't mind. I actually come on site more than many might believe, and enjoy seeing everything you all post. If you might want a sub board to just add any thing your doing let me know, I don't think the site can be filled up........with appropriate related content. Anyhoo, Let me know what your thinkin'.

I came in tonight to check everything out. I've been by a couple of times before. It's pretty sad. Anyone got any suggestions as how we can get this forum back to it's former self. This use to be a fun place. Now it feels cold and almost dark. The former shadows haunt this place.

Im working on several projects and jusr bought a 3D printer. I also have the scanner and Alps printer working again for doing decals. Ill post something as soon as I can.

Sorry to hear of Andy's passing.

As for the rest of you guys, I'd be happy to hear from all of you again. Leave a message here on Trackside. Ill be checking in every few days.

Take care everyone!!

Mark aka Riptrack

It is with great sadness that I read of Andy's passing. I was fortunate to meet Andy a couple years ago and have a tour of his railroad. A very kind and talented man, we enjoyed a conversation like we had known each other for years. Quite frankly; I'm speechless. Truly heart felt sympathies to his wife and family.

[/Uello old Hello old friends & fellow modellers Yes 'tis me, the Prodigal Modeller, (aka Simon) back to spread confusion & mayhem. It was with heavy heart that I heard of the passing of our friend & fellow modeller, Andy Kramer. He was a multitaeted modeller & a fine musicion, buy above all ,he was a wonderful friend. Like most folks on this forum,I did not meet Andy in person..

I first met Andy in June 2006 when I joined this forum. I spent many a happy hour here, chatting with Andy & fellow members over a variety of topics.  I should oerhaps pont out the fact, that despite my modelling of North  American Railroading,I don't live in the USA. I live on the  opposite side of the Atlantic duck pond in the beautiful city of Cape Town in South Africa.

Andy wAs building an around  the basement walls layout of the Milwauke rd, as it was in the 1950's . He was scratch building the majority of the main structures in each town, but was not adverse to using strcture kits where they suited the purpose. Andy was building the layout in a linear style, completing each town before moving onto the next  town.It is a great pity that we shall not see the complete layout

Finally I would like to say thank you to Andy, for the GREAT MODELLER thathe was & for being a WONDERFUL FRIEND.  R.I.P. ANDY, you will be sorely missed.   :(

So sad to hear this news. Our Heart felt sympathies to his wife and family.
Likewise, I had never met Andy, and will miss his posts and enthusiasm for his music and modeling.
Rest In Peace my friend.
