I am skipping around a little.....Today I decided to get some of the ground cover down around the scrap yard area (in this case....ground cover means "trash")   ;D

Now a little more conventional ground cover:

I was also cleaning dust and cobwebs off my layout today.......what a pain  P[:

Andy....I know some of the stuff is actually too good for the scrap heap, but I figured it would work for now...Ill swap it out later when I get more "scappy" scrap   ;D  ;)

Hey I see some stuff in that scrap I think I could use. The overhang is a nice touch and so are the bins. I really like the old couch.

Thank you sir!!!

Adding pipe & ventilation related "stuff" to the scrap heap:

See......it might not be much progress, but at least it's some  ;)

I didn't want anyone thinking I've given up on this scene so I figured I post a couple of pics:

I bought some "junk" castings from Monroe Models and painted them up (sofa, refrigerator, stove, hot water heater):

I decided to put an awning on the right-side of the shed and have some bins out there (still need to fill them up):

Beat up the track bumper a little:

This is a very slow going project, but I have promised myself to do at least "something" every day  ;)

Andy...I will look for a clock...or two

I have begun making "scrap" for the yard and I used some of the leftovers from an old viaduct. None of this stuff is glued down. I am just experimenting with placement and colors. I will keep making junk and when I have a good amount, I will decide on final placement. It won't look so neat and tidy when I am done:

Even in this state, it is already showing some potential and should make a nice scene.

Steve

Find an old alarm clock and take it apart. All kinds of good junk in there.

Making scrap should be easy for you!! It came out real nice, I like the open look.

Ok....I toned down the rust and I think it looks a lot better. The rigging was a royal pain but the lines are pretty taut and except for a little "fuzz" on the thread in a few places, I am satisfied. I will probably find a figure or two to put inside the cab, but this one is done:

I like the way the rust came out on the bottom of the water tank:

Next I need to make some scrap....

Thank you guys!

After looking at the pics...I decided to tone down some of the more "bright" rust spots. I think it should look a little more realistic.

Back to the rigging.....wish I was modeling in O scale  :'(
